Now boot to desktop mode in Windows 8.1

Now boot to desktop mode in Windows 8.1
The Windows Metro Style is not really my cup of tea. I prefer “Retro” instead of “Metro” when it comes to Desktop computing – let’s face it Microsoft – you are great for my desktop computing experience , but trying to become a cross between a mobile and a   desktop OS you are guaranteed to lose market share in your core office and desktop market. And the metro style is yet to win sufficient brownie points with mobile users who are hooked on Android and IOS.
People want different things from different applications – would you like to see a bread toaster and I would like to boot to the familiar windows desktop instead of the hybrid “mobilish” Metro.
After Windows 8 and before Win 8.1 users had to look for work-arounds ..But now fortunately Microsoft listened ( for a change!) and gave us the option for booting to the Desktop – However they haven’t explicitly published how to do so.
So here’s the step-by-step guide

1. After booting Windows 8.1 click Windows Button + D (or click “Desktop” tile in Metro interface) to enter Desktop mode.
2. Right-click on the taskbar, then click Properties -- Navigation Tab

3. Apply and Close - And you are good to go!
